Roooofus the Roller Roo:

Kangaroos hop. Hopping is what they do. But there was one kangaroo named Roooofus that thought hopping wasnt hip.

Roooofus decided to catch (never hop, mind you) a freighter to America to see what young Americans did for fun.

As the young Roo wandered the ship, he found some cool clothes and some hip-looking shoes with wheels on the bottom.

As the ship started to rock, he started to roll, and roll, and roll… And he liked it! The crew gave their young friend a name, “The Roller Roo.”

Then the day came when the ship docked. The moment the crew let down the gangway, the Roller Roo rolled right past everyone. He was off to find other rollers who loved rolling as much as he did.

After asking where all the young rollers were, he was told to go to a Roller Skating Association Skating center.

Roo has made Crystal Palace Skate Center his home. If you spot him, tell him that you love to roll, too! And be a part of the Roo crew!

Kooky A. Bird:

Roooofus the Roller RooŽ was walking to the roller skating center one bright, sunny day when he stumbled upon a large box in the parking lot.

The box was from Australia, his native land. Peering inside the box, he found a white, oval- shaped object that was nearly as large as him.

He stooped over the object to get a closer look and was startled by a "peck," followed by a "crack," a "snap," a "chirp" and then one final, loud "crack!"

Roller Roo stepped back, and a brightly-colored kookaburra bird bounced out of its shell. Flap, flap, flap, went the kooky bird's wings. However, no matter how hard he flapped his wings, he couldn't fly.

Roller Roo had an idea. "Put these skates on and start rolling," said Roller Roo.

Kooky put on the skates and began to roll and roll and roll. "Hey, this is fun," said Kooky. "I don't need to fly when I can skate."
